Ferroboron
Used in:
Ferroboron is an iron alloy consisting of boron and iron,which is mainly used in steel and cast iron. Adding 0.07%B to steel can significantly improve the hardenability of steel. Boron added to 18%Cr, 8%Ni stainless steel after treatment can precipitate hardening, improve high temperature strength and hardness. Boron affects graphitization in cast iron, thereby increasing the depth of the white and making it hard and wearproof. The addition of 0.001% ~ 0.005% boron in malleable cast iron is beneficial to forming nodular ink and improving its distribution. At present, low aluminum and low carbon boron iron are the main raw materials of amorphous alloys.
